Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has hailed the leadership of captain Wayne Rooney

Rooney has missed last three games because an ankle injury, delaying the forward’s 500th appearance for the club.
Goalkeeper has revealed that Rooney is still playing an important role as captain as he played down talk of player unrest over under-fire boss Louis van Gaal.

“As our captain he has a big personality, he always tries to motivate us. When things are going badly it’s he always speaks up and encourages us. That’s what he always does. There’s a great atmosphere. The dressing room is very together and united. They are a great set of lads and we’re all very happy with the group of players that we have. I think that’s really important in a team if it wants to achieve big things.”: said De Gea.
